During this fall retreat weekend, we will circle together when the veil is thin and explore our birthright of connection with ourselves, each other, Source, and the natural world through myth and storytelling, herbalism, energy work, astrology, and more.

We’ll be using the book, “Modern Magic: Stories, Rituals, and Spells for Contemporary Witches,” by Michelle Tea as our guide. A self-described DIY witch and professional tarot reader, literary and feminist icon Michelle Tea provides a fascinating magical history and spiritual traditions from around the world, giving us the tools, spells, and rituals to navigate our stressed-out, consumer-driven lives. Witty, down-to-earth, and wise, she bewitches us with tales of how she crafted her own magical practice and came into her own. She also shares enchanting stories from her earliest witchy days as a goth teen in Massachusetts as well as insights from her adult practice. Modern Magic gives us the tools to tap into a stronger, distinctive magic that lies within us, one that incorporates queer, feminist, anti-racist, intersectional values.

Camp Amnicon:

The lodge at Camp Amnicon has a beautiful central fireplace with seating area, small kitchen area, sauna, access to coffee and tea all day, indoor bathrooms and showers, and two bunk rooms. There are a myriad of hiking trails and access to Lake Superior and the Amnicon River—an incredible retreat destination in the heart of the South Shore wilderness.

*Private cabins may be available. Please contact Camp Amnicon directly to check availability.

This retreat will include a morning practice such as yoga, free time for rest and reflection, and workshops with Indwelling Guides. We will also have massage therapists on site.

The retreat cost includes breakfast, which is provided by Indwelling. For dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, please bring a potluck item. This is a beautiful way to care for each other with nourishing food and also keeps the retreat cost at a reasonable price.

*This retreat will be offered to women, women identifying individuals, and non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experience of women.
