From Blood to Alchemy: The Fierce and Powerful Transition to Midlife Retreat

November 8-10, 2024, at the Lodge at Camp Amnicon

Check in is at 4P on Friday, November 8

Check out is at 12P on Sunday, November 10

On this weekend retreat, we will circle together and explore the alchemy of midlife, focusing on perimenopause as an embodied experience, as well as sexuality as it manifests in the years between maidenhood and cronedom.

In our modern culture, most women who enter midlife do so with little knowledge or support around their changing hormones and bodies. This is a little talked about and under researched area of life for many women that can last up to 10 years!

During this fall retreat experience, we seek to change that paradigm, and to usher in reflection, discussion, ritual, and support for all women that are starting to experience “the change.” We’ll explore perimenopause holistically from spiritual, sexual, physical, nutritional, and depth psychological perspectives, focusing on the divine feminine and alchemy as a central pathways for transformation.

The lodge at Camp Amnicon has a beautiful central fireplace with seating area, small kitchen area, sauna, access to coffee and tea all day, indoor bathrooms and showers, and two bunk rooms. There are a myriad of hiking trails and access to Lake Superior and the Amnicon River—an incredible retreat destination in the heart of the South Shore wilderness.

The retreat will include embodied movement or yoga practices, free time to sauna and hike, and workshops and other offerings.

The retreat cost includes breakfast, which is provided by Indwelling. For dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, please bring a potluck item. This is a beautiful way to care for each other with nourishing food and also keeps the retreat cost at a reasonable price.

*This retreat will be offered to women, women identifying individuals, and non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experience of women.

Retreat Guides: Hilary Buckwalter-Wilde, Anna Frances, & Kirsten Desmarais
